Ten Ways to Love

This is the Stuff (Tune In)

Published by Colleen on December 27th, 2011

I love Christmas.  Each year, I buy my oldest two boys the next edition of the WOW Chrisitan Hits CD.  So “we” :-) now have the 2012 disc. Love it!!  It has some of the BEST songs!

I am linking up over at Failure Is Never Final again for Tune In Tuesday.  You have to have a song that really speaks to you to, do you not?  I have so many that my biggest struggle is selecting which one I want to pick for this series.  Actually, since I’m the author of FNF too, I get to pick two each week – woohoo.  I am sure that this will catch on big time once I get a following for either of these blogs.  Music is such a huge part of people’s life.  The words and the music really speak to so many people, it is just such a natural thing to want to share.

Today, I’m desiring to share one of my favorite artists, Francesca Battistelli.  In fact, when I first encountered Pandora, my station was “Francesca Battistelli” because that it the type of music that really resonates with me.  I’m guessing that if you are a woman, this song will speak to you too!  It is called “This is The Stuff” and the song and lyrics can be found here on YouTube.  Check it out!  In case you need convincing, here is a little teaser:

I lost my keys in the great unknown
And call me please ‘Cuz I can’t find my phone

This is the stuff that drives me crazy
This is the stuff that’s getting to me lately
In the middle of my little mess
I forget how big I’m blessed
This is the stuff that gets under my skin
But I gotta trust You know exactly what You’re doing
It might not be what I would choose
But this is the stuff You use

45 in a 35
Sirens and fines while I’m running behind . . .

See, you relate, don’t you?!? ;-)

Tune In Tuesday

The song that I am selecting for today is “Let The Waters Rise” by Mikeschair.  Here is a link to it on YouTube (with lyrics).  This song really meets me where I am in life right now.  I have the head knowledge that God is completely in control of everything.  I desire to put that knowledge into practice, but I struggle.  I do have an underlying peace about my whole situation, but there is still a part of me that needs reassurance.  This song helps me to gain the proper perspective.  You were faithful before, you’ll be faithful again.  I’m holding your hand” is a line from the song.  Powerful, isn’t it?

(note: Failure Is Never Final is another blog that I author :-) )

Menu Plan Monday

Published by Colleen on December 12th, 2011

Laura, from I’m an Organizing Junkie!, started the wildly popular blog hop, Menu Plan Mondays.  If you need some meal ideas, check out her post and then choose from amongst the hundreds (yes, hundreds) of link ups below her post to see what other moms are serving their families this week.  I’m sure you will glean some inspiration from there.

I hate to admit it, but one of the biggest areas of weakness that I experience in my domestic endeavors is meal planning.  It is always done by me in fits and starts. I may take time to ‘plan’ what we’ll eat but I rarely do what it takes to turn that plan into action. I wholly understand the benefits of meal planning: never having to figure out what we are eating last minute, eating healthier both for the rest of the family and for my sake (weight), to cut down on the way too frequent grocery shopping not to mention that I’d save money too!

Well, just because I haven’t succeeded in the past with this doesn’t excuse me from putting my best food forward and embracing this part of my new domestic me (after all, failure is never final!) SO, with that it mind, ere is what the Garcia’s will be eating this week:

Monday: Paninis and Tomato Soup

(one of my kids favorites).  We use the panini press – and make sandwiches from lunchmeat and cheeses that we have – often times for the children, especially the younger ones, it isn’t much more than a pressed grilled cheese. :-)

 Tuesday: Chicken Feista Bake

Wednesday: Rotisserie chicken, brocolli and rice

Thursday: Eggplant Parmesan , salad

Friday: Beef Tips and Egg Noodles, peas

That’s as far as I have planned for this week.  Weekends tend to be more by the seat of our pants around our home – and sometimes my husband actually wants to cook something special or whatever, so I’m planning on not planning for Saturdays and Sundays at this point.  :-)
